1942 – on “Vanzee” street
A conference was convened on January 20th,
1942, in the Gestapo villa at 56-58 Am Grossen Wannsee. There was only one item
on the agenda – the final dealing with the Jewish question in Europe. The plan
for the dealing with this question requires from the allies in the Pact Romania,
Slovakia, Croatia, and Bulgaria, to introduce against their Jews new measures
aligned with the Gestapo (in occupied countries the German deal with this matter
alone). In order to deal with the matter once and for all by means of physical
eradication of the Jews a list was made of all European countries with a total
of 11 291 500 Jews, including the Bulgarian 48 000. At the same time, on
December 29th, 1941, Alexander Belev, Jurisconsult with the Ministry of Interior
and People’s Health, leader of the Champions who stood behind the attempt to
vandalize Jewish stores along the central streets in Sofia in 1939, who had
studied on site German anti-Semitic legislation and was involved in the drafting
of the Law for protection of the nation, was dispatched to Germany.
